Senior QA Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and automation testing, a deep understanding of QA processes, and the ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end QA activities across web, mobile, and API-based applications
• Design, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on requirements
• Perform manual testing including functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing
• Develop, maintain, and execute automation test scripts (UI, API, and regression)
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using bug tracking tools
• Collaborate with development and product teams to understand features and edge cases
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and release planning
• Mentor junior QA engineers and review their test cases and work
• Contribute to QA process improvements, best practices, and documentation
• Ensure quality metrics are met before every release

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC
• Hands-on experience with manual testing for web and mobile applications
• Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, etc.)
• Experience in API testing (Postman, REST clients, or automation frameworks)
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to write clear test cases, bug reports, and documentation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Good to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration
• Performance or load testing experience (JMeter, k6, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries
• Experience testing cloud-based or SaaS platforms
• Experience mentoring or leading QA teams
