Brief

Stellar Asset Mobility is an institutional-style blockchain platform designed to demonstrate how tokenized financial assets can be registered, valued, pledged, monitored, substituted and released as collateral.

 

The platform enables approved institutions to create financial exposures and secure them using eligible tokenized assets such as U.S. Treasuries, stocks, ETFs, money market funds, stablecoins and other real-world assets. Each asset can be configured with issuer information, market value, eligibility status, valuation timestamp and risk haircut.

 

Users can monitor available balances, pledged collateral, market value, haircut-adjusted value, required collateral coverage, current coverage ratio and margin shortfalls from a centralized dashboard.

 

The platform also includes administrative and risk-management workflows for institution approval, asset registration, valuation updates, exposure monitoring, margin calls, settlement, emergency controls and complete audit tracking.

Solution

The solution was designed as an end-to-end tokenized collateral management platform combining Stellar assets, Soroban smart contracts, institutional dashboards, risk calculations and blockchain transaction monitoring.

 

Soroban smart contracts manage collateral locking, additional collateral deposits, asset substitution, release, exposure settlement and role-based permissions. The platform prevents pledged token balances from being reused across multiple obligations.

 

For collateral providers, the platform offers a structured workflow to select eligible assets, review haircut-adjusted values, pledge collateral through the Freighter wallet and respond to margin calls by adding or substituting assets.

 

For collateral receivers and risk teams, the platform provides exposure creation, required collateral calculations, asset eligibility configuration, valuation updates and continuous coverage monitoring.

 

Administrative users can approve institutions, map wallets, register issuers and assets, update prices and haircuts, pause critical operations and review a complete timeline of on-chain and off-chain activities.

Core Platform Capabilities

Institution and Role Management

The platform supports administrators, risk managers, collateral providers, collateral receivers and compliance or operations teams through configurable role-based permissions.

 

Tokenized Asset Registry

Approved assets can be registered with issuer details, asset type, price, eligibility, risk haircut, valuation timestamp and operational status.

 

Exposure Management

Institutions can create obligations with a defined exposure value and required collateral ratio. Exposures can move through open, margin-call, settled and closed states.

 

Collateral Vault

Providers can lock, add, substitute and release tokenized collateral through Soroban smart contracts while preventing double pledging of token balances.

 

Margin Call Monitoring

When asset prices fall or collateral eligibility changes, the platform recalculates the coverage ratio and automatically displays any collateral shortfall.

 

Collateral Substitution

Institutions can replace existing pledged assets with other approved assets without closing the underlying financial exposure.

 

Settlement and Release

Once an obligation is settled, the platform updates the exposure state and releases the locked collateral back to the provider.

 

Institutional Dashboard

Users can monitor available balances, pledged balances, active exposures, asset valuations, collateral coverage, margin calls and recent transactions.

Development

The platform was developed as a responsive web application containing separate dashboards for institutional users, risk managers and administrators.

 

The frontend was built using Next.js and TypeScript, with Freighter wallet integration for signing Stellar transactions.

 

The backend was developed using Node.js and NestJS to manage institutions, assets, exposures, notifications, valuation records, permissions and blockchain event synchronization.

 

Soroban smart contracts were developed using Rust to manage asset permissions, exposure states, collateral locking, substitution, release and emergency controls.

 

The solution integrates with Stellar SDK, Horizon and Stellar RPC to submit transactions, monitor contract activity and reconcile blockchain records with the backend database.
